Typically, users place smart displays in their living rooms, home offices, kitchens, or bedrooms.

I set out to create a range of solutions that could sit comfortably next to a wall of framed art, among mid-century modern furniture, or even bedside during a morning sunrise.

Wake up routines are one of the most common usecases for smart displays. Sunrise alarms provide both audio and lighting cues to bedside users.

I also explored color sampled & audio reactive visuals to pair with music being played in a living room setting, etc.

The above alarm design is intended to compliment water-based sleep sounds, with the visuals matching the ambient light in the room. Smart LED lights or window shades could also be connected to further augment the wake-up experience.
